First Step Relations, founded by Seán M. Dalpiaz, is dedicated to supporting individuals & families impacted by the criminal legal system. We walk alongside people at every stage of their journey—whether entering, navigating, or reentering from the system—offering guidance, resources, & advocacy grounded in compassion and lived experience.

We are grounded in proximity, experience, & supportive relations.

In addition to direct support, First Step Relations provides training & education on the deep impacts of systemic marginalization, helping organizations, institutions, & communities better understand the structural barriers faced by those most affected.

We also offer strategic advisory services in nonprofit real estate project management, program development & implementation, & Request for Proposal planning & response—bringing a justice-centered lens to organizational growth & infrastructure.
